Jarrahdale commenced in 1872 with the granting of timber concessions. Jarrahdale Cemetery was also established in 1872. Serpentine Agricultural Area was declared in 1891. The Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale can be traced back to 1894. Church of England services were held in Western Australia from the colony's inception in 1829.
